There’s a perception that the future of work is all about disruptive tech like AI and automation. The truth is, the future of work requires us to create solutions today that combine both human and machine innovation.

Sometimes those solutions will involve new technologies. Sometimes those solutions will require people to lead differently. And sometimes those solutions will demand that teams change behaviors. Your job as a leader is to identify how much of each ingredient is needed to build the right future of work for you.

I believe new disruptive technologies – from AI and Quantum Computing, to Robotics and Genomics – will transform how we live and work.

Of course, you shouldn’t fully trust anyone who says they can predict the future, including trained futurists like me. It’s not like we’re oracles with crystal balls. And besides, shiny tech objects are not enough to build the future of work.

We also have to reinvent how we lead. How we nurture creativity. How we ideate solutions. How we manage our teams, and how we collaborate together to solve problems.

In my Harvard-published research on the future of work, I discovered that high performing teams have mastered a critical mindset for success called “radical adaptability.” This is a skill that empowers teams to solve any workplace problem with simple yet powerful mindset shifts in leadership and teamwork habits.

When we combine these human behavioral changes with new disruptive technologies like artificial intelligence, we can create a future of work with exponential results, making our impossible, possible.

How can I help your organization find new perspectives on this future?

How can I help your organization find new perspectives on this future?

I help audiences identify their big hairy audacious problems – what I call their “moonshots” – and I give them a practical framework for how they can collaborate to achieve their shared mission.

Early in my career, one of my bosses nicknamed me “The Wolf” from Quentin Tarantino’s film Pulp Fiction. When we first meet the character in the film, he introduces himself as, “I’m Winston Wolf. I solve problems.”

That nickname stuck. I love sharing innovation lessons on leadership, teamwork, and technology that, when brought together, empower organizations to solve real problems and translate the future of work into the present of work. Don’t just take my word for it. Consider what another former boss and mentor, Peter Diamandis – the inimitable innovator and founder of the XPRIZE – has to say:
